Mendip Activity Centre required strategic marketing guidance to take its complex business to the next level as it expanded its growth and ambitions.
The very capable but busy team needed help creating a structured marketing approach that would identify the parts of the business they should focus on.
This approach would not only help them reach their business goals, but also guide their priorities and give them confidence in their decision-making around what to focus on and what to potentially drop.
Working with the Visitor Elves marketing strategy creation service, I led the senior team through a series of workshops which explored the products and services on offer.
- We identified their most valuable customers and looked at their needs and challenges.
- We reviewed the customer journey to identify gaps, market cross-over, and ways to refocus marketing efforts to meet business goals.
- We looked at the brand proposition and where they wanted to be, and put a plan together to get them there over the next two years.
Using the Guided Marketing Strategy process, they kept costs down, ensuring their new marketing manager learned the process and took full ownership of this practical plan.
After the strategy was implemented, we met monthly as part of the ongoing Mentoring Service to answer any questions and create a reporting process, so that they could monitor its effect and adapt or build on it as required.
