Lindsey Williams shares sales tips from her hospitality career, promoting Mollies Motel and Diner, a stylish, affordable accommodation brand, while highlighting the importance of integrity, service, and knowing your audience.

In today’s episode Kelly met Lindsey Williams, Head of Sales at the brand new Mollies Motel & Diner.

In the podcast Lindsey shares her tips for marketing and driving sales of corporate business, including the essential identification of your core audience and the ‘bookers’, building relationships with referral partners and to attracting influencers to come and stay.

Mollies Motel and Diner is the brainchild of Nick Jones, creator of the luxury SoHo House brand and this influence is evident across the whole place.  With luxuries like Dyson hairdryers and straighteners alongside Cowshed products, the touches of class are what you would expect from a high-end £250+ a night hotel but as rooms are less than half this price, the brand provides other mid-range hotels with some serious competition.

Lindsey has many years of working in hospitality with her most recent years heading up large brand regional hotel sales roles for the likes of Mercure.  Not adverse to rolling up her sleeves and cleaning rooms during the lockdown, Lindsey proves that hard work, dedication and integrity will serve you well in the hospitality industry.

Lindsey joins the new independent ‘budget luxe’ brand as their first Sales representative providing them with her a wealth of knowledge, some of which she shares with us in this episode.

Most importantly and key to any long-term sales career (as Lindsey has proved), is her integrity and genuine care for good service and ensuring customers have the best time.

Lindsey’s tips for effective hotel marketing and sales

  1.     Know who your audience are and form a plan to approach each type
  2.     Identify who the actual ‘booker’ is and develop relationships
  3.     Referral partners are crucial, especially businesses in the area who have mutually beneficial needs
  4.     Social media marketing for sharing the brand story and attracting influencers to stay
  5.     Not being afraid to pick up the phone!
